Frequently asked questions.

Three words: no, yes, try it.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Zerolog runs over Bluetooth and local network. If two devices are physically near each other they can chat and play even with no internet.

Does it work on a plane?

Yes. Airplane mode doesn't turn off Bluetooth — most airlines allow Bluetooth. If your friend is on the next seat, you can keep chatting and playing.

Why do you ask for my phone number?

Only for verification. This step prevents fake accounts and abuse. After verification your number is not stored long-term, isn't shown on your profile, isn't shared with anyone.

Are deleted messages really unrecoverable?

Yes — because they were never stored. Messages live only in RAM; they're wiped when the timer fires or when the app closes. There's no copy to recover.

What if the other party screenshots the messages?

Zerolog — like any messaging app — cannot prevent that. The responsibility to choose your interlocutor lies with you.

Can the other side open a chat without me knowing?

No. Every new pair requires your approval. No chat opens with a device you haven't approved.

Can I use it on multiple devices?

Each device has its own local identity. Messages are not synced across devices — because they aren't stored.

Are there voice calls? Are they secure?

Yes. You can make end-to-end encrypted voice calls with people you've paired with. Audio flows directly between the two devices and isn't recorded. Voice calls require an internet connection (audio is not carried over Bluetooth).

Can I block or report someone who bothers me?

Yes. You can block in one tap — when you block, the chat with that person is wiped from both devices and they can no longer send you messages or pair requests. You can also report with categories like spam, harassment, abuse, and fake account, and track your report's status from inside the app.

How many games are there, and do they work offline?

There are thirteen: Tic Tac Toe, Rock Paper Scissors, Backgammon, Chess, Penalty Kicks, Basketball Hoops, Okey, Battleship, Snake Duel, Reaction Tap Duel, Connect Four, Memory Match, and Tetris Duel. All play over the same connection, with no internet; most can also be played solo against AI.

Are there push notifications?

Yes — for inbound pair requests and calls. Message content is never in the push payload.

Is it really free?

Yes. No ads, no subscriptions, no premium tier.

Is it KVKK and GDPR compliant?

Yes. With no message content collected, there are no content transfers. You can exercise rights like access, rectification, and erasure (right to be forgotten) from inside the app or via info@zerolog.tech; the phone verification reference is also deleted on lawful request.
