Permissions, Only What's Necessary
Zerolog asks for only what it truly needs: Bluetooth, local network, notifications, optional camera (QR), and the microphone for voice calls. Location, calendar, and contacts are never requested.

Overview
How many permissions an app requests is one of the most honest signals of how much it respects your privacy. Zerolog asks only for what its function truly needs.
Bluetooth and local network are for finding nearby devices and carrying data. Notifications are for inbound pair requests and calls. The camera is used only when pairing via QR, and the microphone only during a voice call.
What we don't request matters as much as what we do: Zerolog never asks for location, calendar, or contacts (address book). It collects no advertising ID, analytics, or crash reports.

On the Internet: End-to-End Encrypted Messaging
On Wi-Fi or mobile data, Zerolog opens an end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) channel in parallel. Keys are generated on your device, never leave for a server. Message content can be decrypted only on the two devices — no one, including us, can read it.
Ephemeral (Self-Destructing) Messages
Each chat gets a lifetime: burn on read, seconds, minutes, hours, or wipe-on-session-end. When the timer runs out, the message is gone from both devices. No undo — because there was no save.
Peer-to-Peer Voice Calls
Zerolog offers encrypted peer-to-peer voice calls. Audio flows directly between the two devices and rings with a native call UI on the lock screen. Call history is not kept.
