Feature

Pairing with Mutual Approval

Every new pair requires the recipient's approval. The request shows up on their screen — accept or decline. Silent messaging is impossible.

Highlights

  • Pair request is shown explicitly
  • Channel doesn't open until accepted
  • Pair via QR, PIN, or nearby discovery
  • Verify the channel with a safety code

Overview

On Zerolog, no one can start a chat with you without your knowledge. When someone wants to talk to you, they send a pair request; that request appears clearly on your screen. Until you accept, no channel opens and no message arrives.

You can pair in several ways: by scanning a QR code in person, by comparing a 6-digit PIN on both devices, by discovering nearby devices over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, or by searching for a username.

After pairing, both devices show a matching safety code. When you see the same digits, you know the channel was established with no one in the middle.
